Sometimes the cost of replacing an electrode is significantly more than the price of the item itself, time spent waiting for a furnace to cool down then come back up to temperature or the cost of stopping a production line can be expensive. This particular customer operates a 24 hour production process so downtime is expensive, that’s why they approached Ignition Components to develop a new “indestructible” ignition electrode that they could fit and forget. Made with a 14mm alumina ceramic shrouded in a 16mm stainless steel tube with an APM “anti droop” electrode wire this igniter will perform without servicing for years, massively improving the utilization of the whole plant.
